Is recoiled the correct word?

Is the sentence natural?

Pull the cord for the teddy bear to sing. It'll sing until the cod is totally recoiled.

Thank you

Hi Yes, I think that's fine. Within the teddy there is a spindle and a spring. When you pull the cord it unwinds from the spindle, to power the mechanism.
