0Hello Eladio02br 02br 00I guess you are asking about the usage of "should" in a tentative hypothesis. When a speaker uses "should" in the hypothesis, the speaker takes the likelihood of the hypothesis' realization is very small, but still the hypothesis is not unreal because it talks about future event. 02br 02br 00[1] If I should stay, I would only be in your way.

001. When they all should look at us, I’ll kiss you, okay? ] This I find very odd. "Should" here is grammatical if it = "ought to"; but it implies a very peculiar context. 02br

0I don't know if I'd call it social dynamism. I certainly wouldn't attribute it to anything involving the educational system. Part of it is due to the influence of television and movies, which have emphasized the informal. American culture seems to be becoming more and more informal. And then, just maybe, the language changes faster in the U.S. because Americans are always in a hurry!

0I wouldn't call #2 and #3 archaic, in BrE. I wouldn't be surprised to hear them from a senior civil servant; or a middling civil servant with aspirations. And the "imperative" version is still common in professional contexts, esp. in the 2nd person:02br

0No, I don't think so – they 01i00are02i00 natural! in BrE, at least. The imperative structure with "should" in the if-clause is still quite common, in certain contexts.02br
02br
00Even the original #2 and #3, which I called "rare", sound "natural". 02br
