Is "Out There" Necessary To Complete The Meaning?

Why should I have to put up with my boyfriend's abusive behavior when there are plenty of other men out there who know how to respect women?

I'd like to see whether out there is necessary or redundant.

It's not necessary, but it's not redundant. It tells us she is speaking about men in a general kind of way. She is not speaking only about men that she knows.
