Is or was

I'm Sundar Naz from XXX. I'm an English teacher. I joined this course to learn about the English language more, for it's been more than two years since I stated taking online English language level tests and my score is always B2. Now I want to get to the next level so bad. I hope this course will help me get to the next level.

The use of is is confusing me. Please tell me should it be 'is' or 'was'?
