How would you say this sentence?
You wouldn't think it was/is 9pm because the sun is still out.

I would say it with 'was'. To my ear, it's the use of 'was' that signals my feeling that this is a paradoxical situation.

To me it doesn't make sense to say "You wouldn't think" with the present tense because the present signals that you do

Was and it's (not it is) sound natural to me, though I too would use the past tense.
