is or consist

Which word is best? Is the rest of the sentence correct?
A day ___ of 24 hours. I work 12 hours. I sleep 9 hours. That leaves me with 3 hours, an hour and a half of which accounts for going to and home from work and 90 minutes to get ready for work.
