Grammar

"is" or "are"

Dear all,
My trousers is torn.or
My trousers are torn.

The quarters is very small.or
The quarters are very small.

The enemy forces is coming.or
The enemy forces are coming.

We use pants, trousers, forces, quarters. Here singular form "forces and quarters" are different meaning. So I have the doubt about which verb has to be used with pants, trousers, quarters etc..
Thank you.
