What's the correct verb form in this sentence FEEL or FEELS? This is intriguing me

"Not telling you about my plans and my life FEELS/FEEL so hard.

In my opinion, it's FEEL because the verb refers to the subject, which in this case is "NOT TELLING". But I'd like to hear from all of you.

Cheers,

Derek

I thought "not telling" is considered singular, something abstract or uncountable.

For example, "Flying makes me feel cool"
