Is or are?

Confused about is or are -

What a company does not have is/are simply customers that are loyal to its competitors.

I thinking its 'are' because is/are concern the customers, which is plural.

Hi, What a company does not have are simply customers that are loyal to its competitors Yes you are right, you have to use "are" because customers is plural. Furthermore it's : Im thinking (present progressive) its are because "are" concerns the customers.. You're right But indeed it's a bit confusing , wait for a native speaker , because im not fully sure.
