Is opened / opens

Hi !

I have a question. Are there any correct answers ?

1. The shop is opened at 10.00am and (is) closed at 10.00 pm every day.

2. The shop is open at 10.00am and closes at 10.00 pm every day.

3. The shop is open at 10.00am and is closed at 10.00 pm every day.

Thanks,

Ann

They all work. My preference would be a changed #2: The shop opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm every day. Or The shop is open from 10 am to 10 pm every day.

  • They all work.
  • My preference would be a changed #2: The shop opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm every day.
  • Or The shop is open from 10 am to 10 pm every day.

But what about the sentence : The shop is opened at 10.00am and closed at 10.00pm every day.

If we pay attention to the business hours sticker or sign hung on the glass doors of any bank, post office or business, you will see "open" and "closed" as the standard acceptance. I am not sure if the images will display though.
