Is offering low prices always good?

Whether to offer low prices always good is a matter of heated debate. Some people claim that it could attract more customers because they see low prices simply as good deals while others adhere to see low prices as a sign of a low-quality product. I somewhat agree with this statement because of the following grounds:

On one hand, there are several benefits of offering low prices. Firstly, the most obvious benefit of lowering prices is that the company will attract more buyers. Some people will buy at a lower price point that wouldn’t buy at a higher price point. Secondly, lowering prices of new products or even existing products can help launch new product lines. Apple is a case in point, when Apple launches a new iPhone, they almost always lower the price of the old iPhone. This helps purge old inventory while promoting new products as better and more innovative. Besides, It can open more doors, if the company offers quality low-cost products that make it stand out from competitors it can open doors.

On the other hand, offering low prices can cause trouble. Firstly, lowering the prices of products or services could anger customers who have already purchased at a higher price. Secondly, when low prices are frequently offered, it may give customers the impression that the products or company's brand is of low quality. Furthermore, it reduces profit margins. If the company can not get low-enough prices from vendors, it may have to sell products at a price that does not leave you enough profit.

In conclusion, offering low prices has both positive and negative. Companies should have a comprehensive view to have a suitable pricing strategy for their products to increase profits.
