Is 'of' correct in below sentence?

"Notifications of company customers"

Is 'of' correct in this sentence? I know it would be better to use 'for', but is 'of' gramatically acceptable? If yes, then why?

It isn't really a question of grammar, but of which preposition makes the best sense. I wonder whether "notifications to company customers" is actually what is meant.

Unlikely though it may be, this can mean notifications written by customers of the company.

I like GPY's suggestion better. I'd go with 'to'.
