Is not working/hasn't been working ....

Hi

I'm not sure about the tense.

The site is not working since yesterday.
The site hasn't been working since yesterday.

--- Which of these two is correct? Because of the word "yesterday" I am more inclined to use the past simple tense.

If you're referring to a website, try: "The site has been down since yesterday."

Is the word "since" the only reason why you used the perfect tense?

It's not the word "since"; it's the context that calls for the use of the present perfect and for the word "since", for that matter!

CalifJim NewguestBecause of the word "yesterday" I am more inclined to use the past simple tense. But neither of your examples contains the past simple tense.
Yeah, I've just noticed that.

Thanks for the answer.
