Grammar

Is not doing vs has not done

Hi teachers,

The grammar book says to use the present continuous tense with today, this year, this week.

Our company is not doing good this year.

What is the difference between that

Our company has not done good this year.

Thank you.

Good explanatio by Mister Micawber.

Also, the adverb "well" is used in the business meaning of making a profit, doing well in that sense. "Do good" means to do good things, help out other people. "Do good and avoid evil" is a general goal of good conduct, of morality.

Hi Mister Micawber,

Thank you for your help.

Mary has started an evening class. She is / has been learning Spanish. Which of the tense should I use?

Thanks
