Is my sentence polite and suitable

The following sentence will be the first sentence in my cover letter, for post, for my job application.

if not, could you please amend the vocabulary

It is polite enough. But I would suggest a grammatic change (separating the "via post" explanation with commas) and, perhaps, a shift in why you are sending it. For example: I have applied online.

I agree with Doctor D. The revised version reads so much better.

Sorry, but no commas necessary or desirable:

I have applied online, but I would like to send you my CV via post as well. I am eager to compete for the the xx vacancy.

This is also grammatically correct, although the wording is not as formal as the earlier example.
