I need to write an email to my manager about my unplanned leave. Is my sentence correct?

Hi John, I have got some urgent work tomorrow. Hence I would like to take a day off tomorrow. My apologies for short notice.

Your sentences are correct, but not, in my opinion, as idiomatic as they could be. I would have written the following:

'Hence' is little used nowadays. If you have 'work' then you should be working, not taking leave, so the message doesn't quite make sense. Perhaps you mean this:

Hi John,

I have some urgent personal things to do tomorrow, so I would like to take the day off. My apologies for the short notice.
