Is my sentence correct?

Buy a bag and 10% will go to support breast cancer research.

Specifically, is 'will go to support' correct?

Top answer

It's OK informally. If you want something more formal, I suggest this: Buy a bag and 10% of the proceeds will go to support breast cancer research

Thank you so much.

I was also wondering what to use if I were to say:

Buy a bag and 10% of the proceeds will go to breast cancer research.
Buy a bag and 10% of the proceeds will go for breast cancer research.

So I am not sure whether to use 'to' or 'for', as both sound correct without the word support. Are both possible?

Yes. Alternately,

... will go to the support of breast cancer research.
... will go toward the support of breast cancer research.
... will go to breast cancer research.

(not 'go for')

Thank you. That was very helpful.

I am just curious, would it be correct to say:
... Will go for breast cancer research ( if I were not to use 'support')
I think both sound correct: ... Will go 'to or for' breast cancer reserach. Please advise?

What is it that you do not seem able to understand about my comment posted just previous to this question of yours?

Sorry I thought you were referring to the previous post ... Will go to support breast... and not without the use of 'support'. Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for your clarification.
