Chandrasekhar Reddy When can I use in the road?
It is very uncommon in American English. We use 'on' or 'along'. I cannot think of a good sentence in which 'on' or 'along' would not be more usual.

IN BrE, 'walking in the road' would suggest walking in the part normally used by vehicles rather than on the pavement/sidewalk.
