IS MOLDED TO vs MOLDS TO

What's the difference please and are both correct?

1 The mouthpiece is pre-molded to your teeth./
2 The mattress moulds to (fit) the shape of the body. (is that a tempurpedic matress?)
Is "fit" optional?

Thank you
