Is life simple?

Hello, I'm little bit confused about the following sentence.

"It isn't simple, anymore than life is simple."

I think anymore should be any more.

Then, is life simple?

Which interrpetation is correct:

1. Life is simple, but "It" is not simple.

2. As life is not simple as it is said it is, "It" is not simple.

Hi, It seems like "anymore" is mistakenly used. 1. It isn't simpler than life / life is - Life is simpler than what has been said ("it").

The sentence is correct. The sentence means: It (whatever is under discussion) isn't simple. Is life simple? Certainly not. Life is very complicated. And it is like life, very complicated.
