Is libation a Verb or Noun?

Hi,

I am just confused. If libation is an act of pouring a drink. Then how can it be a noun?

Apologies for my ignorance.

Thanks

Isn't this like asking how "act" can be a noun because it's an act?

Anything that is "the act of" doing something is a noun. They often end in "tion".

constuction - the act of constructing something
operation - the act of operating on somet
