Is "learning rate" the right word in this sentence?

Hi,

Is "learning rate" the right word in my sentence below? Any other correction needed?

"The main purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the learning rate of language learners' reading skills using the two educational methods namely flipped learning and lecturing as an independent variable."
