Is it wrong: use english to write this article.

Q:
1. *** I need to use english to write this article.***
Regarding the whole sentence, Is it grammatically correct? Even if so, is it natural enough?
Is it better to rewrite as "So I need to write this article in English"?

Top answer

' Both sentences are equally OK, Wai Wai, though some might cavil that the first sentence does not require the entire article to be in that language. I myself am uncomfortable with the initial 'so', which I think belongs primarily to spoken English. '

That's a good idea. If you want to keep it closer to the original, you can also cast it as one sentence:

'Today, my teacher told me to write a diary, so I need to use English.'
