Is it understandable what it was decorated with?

He was wearing a robe made ??of a coarse woolen cloth, but his arms, a crooked sabre and a quiver with arrows, were decorated with silver, and his saddle and bridle were decorated with fretted copper plates.

Top answer

of a coarse woolen cloth but his weapons , a crooked sabre and a quiver with arrows, were decorated with silver and his saddle and bridle were decorated with fretted copper plates. "arms" isn't wrong but "weapons" is clearer and less confusing. Saying "arms" in this context causes the reader to have to pause and understand that you are talking about his weapons not his actual arms.
