Is it send 'to our group' of 'send our group'?

The two sentences in question are:

1. As discussed in class, I would request you to send to our group an electronic copy of the prescribed book- 'The Financial Expert.'

2.As discussed in class, I would request you to send our group an electronic copy of the prescribed book- 'The Financial Expert.'

I believe that we commonly use 'send us' instead of 'send to us' in semi-formal English. But, does this logic apply here as well?
