Hi,
Could you check the following please? Is it right to omit the words in the parenthesis?
(noise annoyance is a scientific term which is commonly used in this filed of study.)
"The results showed that 80.1% of the workers expressed some levels of noise annoyance and 19.9% did not show any [noise annoyance]. Out of all the annoyed individuals, 28% showed low [annoyance], 29.8% [showed] moderate, and 21.7% [showed] severe annoyance, respectively."
Thanks!
9% did not show any [noise annoyance]. You have altered the verb from "express" to "show", but these do not mean exactly the same thing, so the sentence may leave some doubt in people's minds either way. If the workers were asked to say (or write) how they felt, then "express" is appropriate.
