Is it possible to say follwing?
I wanted originally to do my MS Thesis at Berkley in spring 2012. As I get surprised with some problem, now I have to postpone it until winter. I wrote the following text to my advisor there as one of many reasons:
During our study I had just one elective course dealing with Structural Optimization with a little explanation about Topology Optimization. Therefore, I think I am not qualified enough. I feel that I need to take more courses on this subject during the Summer term at WTU from Apr. 15, 2012 to Sep. 15, 2012 and do self-study. I believe that this will enable me to write a much better MS Thesis on Topology Optimization, which I plan to complete during the winter term 2012 at Berkley. Is it possible to date the application form DS2019 from Sep. 30th, 2012 to Mar. 30th, 2013 ?
and I've got the answer:

You should be fine with the course you had so far; all what is specific to your thesis you will be able to pick up here.

Despite all my efforts to do my MS Thesis in spring 2012, some thing has happened and it got me all in a muddle and now I realize that it might be only under very difficult and unpleasant circumstances possible to pull the whole thing off.Because of this I require you(has to be expressed very politely) for giving me some more time if it is possible.
