Is it possible to omit "are" in this sentence

Some brands (notably http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awamori#Hanazake) are 120 proof (60%) and are flammable.
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awamori

I find the second "are" redundant and it seems to be possible to omit. If omitting it, will the sentence become unnatural? Thanks in advance!
