Is it okay to add a preposition at the end of a question?

1. "Do you know what time it will be opened at?"

2. "Did you see where they were heading to?"

Or should they be avoided at all cost?

It is a general, though by no means strict, rule of usage that one does not end a sentence with a preposition. In everyday speech, we very often end sentences with prepositions and it has become something of a joke to say "don't end on a preposition!"

Winston Churchill is often quoted in this regard as having said, "This is the kind of pedantic nonsense up with which I will not put
