Is it OK to use 'supervised' in my sentence?

The ball games were supervised by selected students.

The ball games were supervised by students selected from the senior class. (Supervise just means to watch the players and crowd to make sure nothing got out of hand. They did not make any calls in the game. Use "officiated" or "refereed" for that.)
