Is it ok to use ‘of’ instead of ‘as to’ in the bellowed sentence.

“As the weeks went by, my interest in him and my curiosity as to his aims in life, gradually deepened and increased.”

“As the weeks went by, my interest in him and my curiosity of his aims in life, gradually deepened and increased.”
