Is it necessary for me to say ‘it’ in the following sentence?

Is it necessary for me to say ‘it’ in the following sentence? Or should I omit it? If ‘it’ isn’t necessary, how can I make the sentence acceptable?

I hated it when someone pitied me.

Are the following sentences acceptable instead?

I hated to have someone pity me.
I hated that someone pitied me.

You could also simply say: "I hated when someone pitied me."
