Is it natural English?

Initial investigations have shown that the explosions were a deliberate act. One person has died and 8 others have been injured. Further investigation is underway.

I edit it into:

Investigation has shown that the explosions were preplanned. One died and eight injured. Further investigation is underway.

Is my edition acceptable?
