Is it incorrect to use "on" in this sentence?

Hi
Is the following sentence correct, considering the usage of the adverb "on" for the word "movie"?
There's an interesting movie on at 12:00 tonight.

What's on tonight? (What is on television tonight? What is being presented on television tonight?)
There's nothing on this week. (No interesting programs are being presented on television this week.)
I wanted to watch "The Big Bang", but it wasn't on. It had been preempted by a football game.
