Is it "in" or "on the dark side?

What's the right word to use, is it "in" or "on" the dark side?

Thank you!

The answer depends on what meaning of dark side you intend. The side of the Moon that is not facing the sun is 'the dark side'. Some fiction writers, such as Stephen King, imagine that everyone has his/her 'dark side'.
