Is it grammatical to switch verb tense in a predicate with a conjunction?

After reading these sentences, I am getting confused and want enlighten on these sentences.

1) The tag was created and is printed.
2) He threw the rock and catches the ball.

Are these sentences right? Can we use different tenses with conjunctions on same predicate?

The second sentence should be "He threw the rock and caught the ball."
If I understand right, the verb "catch" is kind of a movement that only happens in a few seconds. When we say the senctence, the movement is finished.

For all practical purposes, no. Technically, it's grammatical, but there are few occasions in which it's appropriate to use such a construction. It seems inappropriate in the examples you have cited.
