I will admit never expected both Ikoma and Mumei to survive thought one of them would have died along with Biba, glad it had a happy ending.
It's just a comment. The section underlined is grammatical? Especially, I'm not being sure of whether the 'thought' is 'a verb' whose subject is I or 'a past participle' postmodifying Ikoma and Mumei.
