Is it counted as a pet peeve of mine

Is it counted as a pet peeve of mine that I don't like those people who are lukewarm when they're playing badmintmon as my partener?

Hi,

I tried to say the above last night during an English chat class, but I wasn't sure if it was right or not. If it's not, how should I say it right? Thanks.

It's not bad, but I'd use something more like the following: Does it count as a pet peeve of mine that I don't like playing badminton with [a lukewarm / an unenthusiastic] partner? or ... with a partner who is [lukewarm / not very enthusiastic]?

  • or ...
  • with a partner who is [lukewarm / not very enthusiastic]?

Thanks, Jim, for your excellent version.

I like your version very much.

Btw, can "count as" be used in both active and passive forms? That is, is it right to say either "Is it counted as ... " or "Does it count as ...?"

Angliholic is it right to say either "Is it counted as ... " or "Does it count as ...?"
Both are correct, but the active form "Does it count as ...?" is far more usual by my estimate.
