Is it correct to say 'I have Past Simple in the sentence'?

Hi.

Is it correct to say 'I have Past Simple (or other tense) in this sentence' for an explanation?

#Example

I didn't buy anything in the end.

We have Past Simple in this sentence. 'I don't buy' is wrong.

How can I explain? 'There is Past Simple', 'It is Past Simple', etc?
