Is it correct: "waited happily for Mary"?

Hello, everyone:

I have a multiple choice question about the usage of adverbs here. It goes like this:

John___ . (Chooce a incorrect sentence)

A. waited happily at the corner B. waited at the corner happily

C. waited happily for Mary D. waited for Mary happily

The answer given in my book is choice B. However, I think choice C is the incorrect one. Because in my opinion, "wait for" is a set phrase which cannot be seperated; therefore, it is not suitable to put the adverb "happily" between "wait" and "for". What do you think about that? I really need your help. Thank you!Emotion: smile
