Is it correct grammatically?

Hi! everyone.
I was reading Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice" and I stumbled upon this line, uttered by the protagonist Mr Darcy.
" it is many months since I have considered her as one of the handsomest women of my acquaintance.''
Now I want to ask whether this sentence is correct grammatically.
Or should it have not been "I have been considering her as one of the handsomest women of my acquaintance for many months"?
Thanks!
