Is It Correct?

Hi. Is saying 'the excessive using of anything always creates side-effects.' correct? Is the use of 'using' appropriate in this sentence? Thank you in advance for your response.

I'd change 'using' to 'use'. Why use an -ing verb when there's already a noun that can do the job? CJ
