Is it correct?

Hi.
Is the following passage correct, specifically the use of 'a method of precedures'? Thank you in advance.
The scientific method is a method of precedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century.

In one place you say "a method of precedures" and in another "a method of precedure", but neither is correct since there is no such word as "precedure". Presumably "a method of procedure" is meant.
