Is it correct?

Could the following sentence be correct?

I hadn't seen him since I talked to him.

If I use the past perfect would it be correct to use after since the past simple or the past perfect?

Then why can also the past perfect work after 'since'(also in the same case)?What's the difference if I use after since the past simple or the past perfect?
