Is it correct?

"Since this method utilized variable step size in the implementation, then some restrictions on the step size selection strategy are imposed.
Does this sentence sounds correct? Thanks a lot..

The grammar is OK, but I am not sure that it is saying what you intend. I don't see the connection between the restrictions and the variable step size.

What I am trying to say is "during the implementation of the method, we impose some restrictions on the step size selection strategy." Does the earlier post convey my intention? Thanks a lot!
