Is it correct?

Can you tell me why "throughout the coming two weeks" is used, instead of "in the coming two weeks"?

Based on one of MrWordy's posts, I suspect this is AmE. It stresses that the exercise obtains from the beginning of the first week until the end of the second week.
To my ear, "day by day" doesn't cover it.
Perhaps we think of the "in" version as "sometime in the coming two weeks." It's more a question of common usage than one of logic.

To the British ear, "in" is prob
