Is it clear that which pronouns refer to Flint?

Is it clear that the two 'he', the 'his' and second 'him' refer to Flint, while the first 'him' refers to Berem? Flint pursued Berem, but as he chased him through the mysterious hidden valley known as Godshome, his heart failed him and he suffered a massive heart attack.
