Is it acceptable to use 'was held in celebration of' and 'was held on the occasion of' in these sentences?

Is it acceptable to use 'was held in celebration of' and 'was held on the occasion of' in these sentences? Please help me. Thank you.

1. The so-called "festival of talents" was held in celebration of the 100th founding anniversary of the university where Fely studies.
2. The so-called "festival of talents" was held on the occasion of the 100th founding anniversary of the university where Fely studies.
