Is it acceptable to use "and am" in the middle of a sentence?

It just doesn't look right, but sounds okay when spoken.

I meant that it was not wrong.
Whether it is good style depends on the context, register, etc.

Right, what I meant was that it'd pass in a text message, but not in a formal letter.
