Is it a mistake or not?

I've run into this text here and got confused.
"Try to avoid too wide an angle - 90º is about the widest angle that our eyes can take in."
Is it normal to say "too wide an angle"?

The pattern "too adj. a(n) noun" is reasonably common.

"too big a price to pay"
"too cosy a relationship"
"too tight a gap"
etc.

I see now. Thank you.
When I first read that sentence, I thought it should have been written "to widen an angle". Emotion: smile
